Lack of Blogging

Posted by Dee under admin

I apologize for the lack of blogging lately, I have been busy working on two projects at the moment, and now I am getting ready for our trip to New York next week. I have been busy planning our visit, mapping out some walks, booking restaurants and reading up about places to see.

Of course, as a knitter I am planning a trip to Purl Soho (now in their new location), and I was over the moon to discover it is within walking distance of the Magnolia Bakery so I can enjoy my two favourite things yarn and cupcakes!

New Home Cards

Posted by Dee under cards

We had two friends move house this weekend, whenever I find out someone has moved I like to post them a little card to ensure one of the first pieces of mail they receive is fun!

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the cards before I posted them but I have put together a few links of some tutorials I found online.

Map Card from Creative Card Ideas

This map card from Creative Card Ideas, is just perfect for that personalised touch, you can use an old map, or just as you could just as easily print the map from the Internet.  I was thinking is a perfect way to recycle you old London A-Z as no-one uses them anymore since we all use our GPS.

New Home Card from Paper Source

For a fun pop-up card Paper Source, cut out a mini house, it is such a simple idea, but looks so effective and I am sure this is a card that the new homers will keep for many years to come.

Alternatively, I brought some card toppers online for eBay along with some banners and they created really simple easy cards to put together at short notice.

Happy Easter

Posted by Dee under admin

The long weekend has given me a chance to really jump start a major de-clutter I have been planning, which isn’t really fun to blog about, especially not as a fell in the bath whilst trying to clean the tiles in our bathroom! However it did leave me a little chance to catch up on some knitting and bake some cakes!

The Things I Love – April

Posted by Dee under things I love

The Things I Love - April

  1. MAC Paint Pot Bare Study £13.00 available from MAC Cosmetics.
I might be a little late to the game with this product but I discovered it by accident and now can not live without it. I have issue with getting the perfect eyeliner, I heard about some of the tutorials on youtube, so decided to get some advice. Nearly all the videos recommended this product as a base for your eye make-up, so I had to give it a go. Instantly, I was converted it acts as a great base under eyeshadow or can be worn on it’s own for a natural look.
  2. Snog Frozen Yogurt from £2.85 (one scoop) various London locations.
I recently had lunch with the ladies in Westfield and for dessert they recommended “Snog,” I had walked passed this booth numerous times in the shopping centre and didn’t give it a second thought. However, after one tasting I was hooked and couldn’t wait to go back and try other flavours or toppings. (I think I am going to try green tea and chocolate chips next).
  3. Icing Set £7.99 available from Whisk Cooking.
With my new found love of baking, I had to make sure I had all the right tools, it actually took me a long time to find a piping bag on the high street (Debenhams have one but it is more designed for frosting than icing), so when I found one I was over the moon, the fact it came with various nozzles was a bonus.
  4. Tiffany’s Letter Charm £160 available online from Tiffany’s & Co.
Whenever, we go to America, my husband buys me a charm from Tiffany’s & Co to add to my bracelet, so when we started planning our trip to New York this month, one of the things I had to plan was which charm to buy. I picked this letter one, as I thought it was apt for New York as it has the address of the 5th Avenue store!
  5. Beige Slingback Wedges – £45.00 available from Marks & Spencer.
I have two issues with shoes, one I am an awkward shoe size (6 ½) and two I find it extremely hard to walk in high heels! It makes it very hard to buy trendy shoes which is why I have grown to love Marks and Spencers’ shoes, their Autograph and Limited Collections offer an range of affordable shoes, normally not too high and they come in ½ sizes. These are completely on trend in the spring in a neutral colour (nude is the new black in footwear).
